Annual review - Email for school to request attendees and reports
Is it just me or is this VERY confusing.. ha

It is the SEND Code of Practice. I was just reading it and am I being stupid.. It states the attendees to a review must be given minimum 2 weeks notice to attend.. But below it states the school MUST seek info and send it to a parent 2 weeks before....
Seems a bit muddled as if someone gets 2 weeks notice to attend, then they would have to submit a report and it be sent to all parties that same day they are invited....
• The child’s parents or young person, a representative of the school or other institution attended, a local authority SEN officer, a health service representative and a local authority social care representative must be invited and given at least two weeks’ notice of the date of the meeting. Other individuals relevant to the review should also be invited, including youth offending teams and job coaches where relevant
• The school (or, for children and young people attending another institution, the local authority) must seek advice and information about the child or young person prior to the meeting from all parties invited, and send any advice and information gathered to all those invited at least two weeks before the meeting
Moral of the story is:
If you have a review coming up, make sure you email your school way in advance:
Dear xxxxxxx
My childs review is due to X months time. I would like you to invite the following people to attend: (This could be EP, SALT, Social Care, LA, etc)
I will expect a report from each of these people to feed into the review at least 2 weeks before the date of our child's review so I can look over the reports prior to the meeting.
Kind Regards
