Support their Needs!
How are we expected to believe that a child's EHCP will be followed?
Or that they will be safe and supported in school?
The media consistently points towards the fact that schools will struggle just to open and start testing for Covid.
Supporting a child's needs are essential to them attending, it is not something they can go without. It would be like parents feeling schools will open but have no toilets or drinking water..
The anxiety for parents as we near the beginning of term is unbearable.
Throughout this year all LA's have continued to churn out poor quality EHCPs and unspecified professional reports, blaming Covid...
They have repeatedly admitted to parents in writing that these EHCPs and reports are crap, but still have handed these to schools to fufil them.
Children and young people with EHCPs or those whom have educational needs above those of their peers have suffered hugely this year.
The only way to win this tug of war for your child is to appeal.. complain.. push for something better using all the energy you have.
