EOTAS is when you choose what suits your child's needs, and build a package because a setting is NOT appropriate.
Alternative provision under section 19 of the education act is generally when you are told what is available because your child has barriers to attendance.
We have had many families who come to us and say they have had EOTAS agreed.. but in fact they are on roll with a mainstream school and receiving minimal education under the LAs support for children who are unable to attend school due to health needs.
